Client of the month – Evoke bespoke furniture

I do love my job – especially when I get to work with clients like Evoke – a bespoke furniture maker based in west London.

Evoke is a small company that likes to keep business local to make sure each client gets a truly personal service. I love their ethos and of course their stunningly beautiful products which are a joy to write about.

Each piece of Evoke furniture is made for a particular space and to fit with the client’s taste and lifestyle. There are no sales people. One of the team, usually head designer, Tom, will visit each client to find out exactly what they want, and to see the space.

Because clients speak direct to the person who will design and make their, nothing gets lost in translation. Tom, or one of the team, will advise on the best type of materials to fit the client’s taste and the setting. The customer also gets a 3D design to give them a good idea of what the finished piece will look like. I think that’s a great idea!

Evoke’s aim is to produce high quality, bespoke furniture that doesn’t cost the earth – either financially or environmentally. Choosing bespoke means you get exactly the piece of furniture you want, in the materials of your choice, with the fittings you want, and which fits your space perfectly.

It’s very obvious each of the team enjoys what they do and it shows in the beautiful furniture they produce.

Yasmene, who looks after the company’s marketing, asked me to write the copy for their new website and for their quarterly newsletter. She wanted a warm, friendly tone and style to get across their personal approach to each piece of work.

Here’s what she said about the website and newsletter:

This spring we began a project to completely re-design our 30-page website and to launch a quarterly newsletter.  Having written copy for our previous website we were well aware this was no small task.

We weren’t interested in just achieving a satisfactory result that ticked the boxes for Google keywords.  We really wanted to re-connect with our clients.  Not only did we feel unable to do it justice ourselves, but it would have taken months.

Luckily we were referred to Elaine who spoke with us at length about our company and what we were aiming to achieve.

She turned our ideas and draft copy for the website into something that is light, fresh and meaningful.  She took a lot of the stress away from the process and we are very happy with the result.

Elaine is highly knowledgeable about our field and has generated some great ideas for the newsletter articles.  She worked with us to produce a newsletter that’s engaging, informative, and highly personal to our company.

Not only was all this done efficiently to a timeline that met our needs, but it was clear Elaine really cared about getting the copy right for us.

We’ve had a lot of very positive feedback on both the website and newsletter, confirming that we’re working with the right person as we move forward our marketing.

Hello. I'm Elaine, I'm a copywriter and this is my blog.

It's mostly about words and writing - things that inspire me, entertain me, and make me smile. Sometimes it's about things that horrify me so much I want to scream and shout!

I hope you enjoy it and find it useful. And speaking of useful - scroll down and take a look at the Oxford Dictionaries tool.
