EvokeEvoke bespoke furniture
Evoke’s quarterly newsletter is aimed at clients and anyone who has made an enquiry. Its purpose is to increase awareness of Evoke has to offer, grow loyalty, and get readers talking to other people about them.
Although in each issue there’s a focus on a specific service, it’s not all about Evoke. They also share some of the things they love and which their clients are likely to love too. For example the first issue had an article on the Arts and Crafts movement, and the latest issue has a short feature on the V&A’s furniture galleries.
Perspectives is the bi-monthly newsletter of photographer, Annie Armitage. The aim is to keep Annie’s clients in touch with new services and special offers. But it’s informative and bubbly too (just like Annie!) as she shares her top photography tips and things that inspire her, such as exhibitions and photography books.
And in each issue, readers can win great prizes such as photographic sessions with Annie.
EMR Silverthorn is a long-established, well-respected engineering business. They sell and repair a wide range of electrical motors for a number of sectors including the food industry, hotels, and office buildings. They wanted a quarterly newsletter to promote themselves to existing and potential customers in a subtle, non-salesy way. It’s a way to stay front of mind with customers – particularly those haven’t used them in a while, as well as reminding people about the products they sell and repair. EMR also use the newsletter to tell readers about offers and promotions.
I edit APG’s bi-monthly newsletter, Sharpening the Axe. The newsletter’s aim is to keep in touch with APG clients and introduce the company to prospects. Each issue is themed and as well as a main article, there are hints and tips and book recommendations. Some of the articles are edited and there is a link to the full version on the website.
In between each issue we mail a standalone article; part of an ongoing series called ‘Three minutes on …’
As well as editing I also help to plan the content and come up with ideas for articles.
I wrote content for data management company, StorageTek’s internal online newsletter, Talkabout. The newsletter was an important communication tool during StorageTek’s merge with Sun Microsystems.
I have interviewed HR directors and managers from several high profile companies for TalentDrain. The aim was to have a series of articles based on the interviews that gave an insight into how HR is handled in each particular organisation. I questioned each interviewee on the successes, challenges and problems in their organisation. Each article talks about how individual or collective TalentDrain products have helped to resolve issues or enhance the HR operation.
