Newsletters are an excellent way to build your brand. They let you keep in touch with your clients and attract new business. Here are some ideas to help you produce your own newsletter.
- Get your template designed professionally and check it works in a broad range of email programmes.
- Keep a file of interesting articles or information you’ve come across to supply you with material for your e-newsletter.
- Listen to the questions your customers are asking. Do the same ones keep coming up? If so, address them in your newsletter.
- What are the main issues your customers face? Again, address them with a helpful article.
- Consider getting outside contributors even only to get quotes for an article. It will keep your newsletter fresh and lively.
- Make your newsletter interesting for your readers and keep it brief. Give them advice, information, hints and tips – make it useful.
- Make sure the people on your list are happy to receive it.
- Make sure people can easily unsubscribe if they want to.
- Decide how often you are going to send it out and stick to it.
- If you have a large database, don’t send your newsletter from your email address. Your ISP may think you’re sending spam and blacklist you. Consider using online services such as ezinedirector or mailbuild.
